On Friday evenings we have staff night out with our summer interns.  Last night we went out for delicious (and cheap) Puerto Rican food and then to check out some awesome graffiti.  I have a great group of interns this summer and it was a fun evening!

Tonight we did our annual “Wacky Tour” where we take our summer interns around Camden and show them the neighborhoods in which we work. We finished the tour at the Art Museum in Philadelphia and then ended up playing in the fountain.

Last Friday we had a Math Dare competition against other after school programs in Camden and our Eastside team won! Grades 1st – 8th competed in math problems and “physical challenges” that were super messy and fun.
I’m so proud of our team and I discovered that um…Ms. Jenn is kind of competitive!

Team work.

A year ago, when my team would mess up on Sidewalk Sunday School and be unfocused and not preaching with passion and the power of God, I would yell at them.
Now, I take them out and buy them Starbucks and speak very calmly.
