Fruit.

The Brotherstons sent me a fruit basket! Everyone kept asking if it was my birthday and who it was from! Thanks Crabby for making me feel special! 🙂 We enjoyed eating the chocolate covered strawberries, mangos, kiwi, grapes, etc!

This portal on Research and Resources for After-School and Community Based Programs connects you to more than 20 other websites for seemingly everything you need to know about starting, improving or expanding an afterschool program. I haven’t found a lot of information on the web about ASPs, so it’s nice to have all this information in one place.

P.S. There is also a great website about Managing and Organizing the Homework Environment that has supplied me with lots of good ideas.

Before You Preach.

Joe Thorn has some helpful questions to help clarify your sermon:

1. Does this message exalt the gospel of Jesus Christ?

2. Will people know what to do after hearing the message?

3. Am I saying anything that will distract from the point I am trying to make?

4. Do I, at any point, make much of myself in this sermon?

5. Would I like this to be the last sermon I ever preach?

This afternoon we had a party for the 1st and 2nd graders in our afterschool program. About 20 of them came and we had fun with a pizza party and then carving a pumpkin and making a gingerbread house.
